Vacation / Odmor

I must say that I am quite privileged having the possibility to spend so much time on vacation. Of course I know also that it is a traditional “Frauenfalle” as the Germans would say. A woman trap when staying at home with the kids. However that subject I will write about another time. Now I just enjoy knowing that I could visit my family in Sweden, meet them in Bosnia and Croatia. We have had great time in Bosanska Krupa and Crikvenica and to the end in Pag.
After travelling in these places I have been reminded of the impact nationalism and egoism have on these countries. I have had so many themes to talk about that I believe I could write a book. However, in time I maybe even write about it 🙂

Ko zna, možda nekada budem o tome nešto i napisala 🙂

Energy boost/ Boost energije

This weekend was something special.

For long time, to be exact, last time I went somewhere alone without my kids was two years ago. So for two last years, I have had a kid hanging on my legs constantly.

Last two weeks, surprise surprise, they were again sick. On Saturday I just lost it. I couldn’t manage it anymore. I felt I needed some space alone or I would explode. I needed some socialising with friends. Talking on a higher level than a four year old girl.

I grabbed my things, said bye, the kids where crying and crying making me feel bad. Ensar actually also commented and made me feel bad. However, I ignored them all. I had enough, I just left.

The moment I sat down in the bus, (I took the bus it was 10 times cheaper than the train (14 euro!!), I just relaxed. I haven’t relaxed like that for ages. I travelled for four hours. It felt like a spa visit. I listened to a book and I slept.

Talk about that the view of things changes when having kids. I will definitely do that more often.

In Munich I met THE important friends. The ones that have been through my life the last 15 years. It is special. I am so happy I have them. After two days I went back to Karlsruhe. Calmer, more satisfied. With some new insights.

My friends are a treasure that no money can pay. I am so grateful to have them and I really really miss them…

(A prije toga još dvije godine)

Nikakvo plakanje. Nisam trebala nikoga hraniti. Milina.
Osjećala sam se kao u spa.

Slušala sam knjigu i spavala. Uživancija!

U Minhenu sam srela moje prijateljice.
I stvarno mi nedostaju ovdje…

BRRaaa

Today Ada said R for zna first time:) The first word she managed to say with a proper R was (the swedish)  “bra” (means good). She got so happy she terrorised us for an hour and a half rolling her R’s. She said Rrriba (means fish) and danced around telling happily that she wants to show her sister (PZ) what she has learned. But the most I loved was the expression of her face the moment she managed to pronounce it correctly. Priceless 🙂
This was the perfect ending after a day in the zoo.

The playground at the zoo. A little bit too high for my taste but it seems Ada likes it.

Highlight of the day was the boat trip / Vrhunac danas je bila vožnja brodićem

Bosanska Krupa

On 1.st of May the weather turned quite chilly in Crikvenica so we decided to move on to Bosanska Krupa in Bosnia. My father is also there and he was organizing a barbeque party to celebrate the 1.st of May. Well I thought it will be four of us, my father and maybe someone more. Instead I was lucky to meet half my family 🙂
Last time we were so many on one spot was on my grandmothers funeral.
My uncle “dajdza Adnan” had “the honor” to barbecue the lambs and the rest of us enjoyed.

My surprise when entering our “garden”. Previously in front of the house was a small field where we were playing. However, lately our neighbours seem to have forgotten to take care of it and now we literally have a forest in front.

Well, I know it does look a little bit awkward, but it does taste great.
Still some missing here…

In my deepest misery I was buying medicaments like people buy candies. I said to myself, when I get better I will go to the city and I will buy anything I need.
Last week then I felt a little bit better and went for a spontaneous coffee with a friend…ending up in Tk-maxx AND Roppenheim outlet in France. I bought 3 pairs of Asics, 2 pairs of Levis, shoes for the kids t-shirts, a jacket, sun cream, a day moisteuriser, a night moisturiser, a serum from instytutum and a pair of sunglasses. I have to say I prefer buying things like that than medicaments 🙂

Spring is coming, girls. Time to dress up!
Cure, dolazi proljeće. Vrijeme se srediti!

Hope / Nada

A healthy man has thousands of wishes, a sick man has only one…After having have experienced the worst month and a half ever it has made me think of myself. Last week I got tonsilitis, otitis a headache from hell where I had the feeling that my head will literally explode. No painkillers helped. My balance crashed, the fever was high no matter what I took. I dehydrated, I puked so finally the emergency docs had to come to check me up. My ligaments where hurting. I was lying for days in the bed. Whining of pain. sleeping and not sleeping. I don’t even know anymore. In all this misery I wondered how do people having much more serious health problems motivate themselves?

For the first time in weeks I felt good enough to get out from the apartment. It felt wonderful! This simple thing to take a walk is just magic. Unfortunately it is not in Hagapark or at the magic place in Ade in Krupa but still. It is good enough. Today, I had a walk in a small forest and felt hope when I saw the anemones. I am almost through this illness and I am lucky I made it. It is almost over. The spring is back! Lezala sam danima u krevetu. Plakala sam od bolova. Spavala sam a i nisam.

Flu from hell!/ Gripa iz pakla!

I am sooo fed up with the colds, stomach viruses, bronchitis, the flu from hell and on top of that pneumonia and otitis. Since Thursday I have mostly spent my time taking care of Ada. She was having high fever and hurting joints. On Sunday I felt she got better, at least the high fever was gone.
Having sleep depriviation I hoped for at least one night with some good sleep. Well, I hoped too much! In the night Ada was screaming of pain. It was freaking me out. It took me long time to find out that she has pain in the ears because she was just crying and screaming not telling me what the problem was. At least ibuprofen helped!

Then came Monday and Ensar that was supposed to go to US early in the morning was in such a bad shape (pneumonia and otitis) he had to cancel the trip and now he has to stay at home the whole week.

After having left Adrian in the kindergarten, Ada wanted to go t o a museum. (Un)fortunately, museums are closed in mondays So we strolled around and went for a delicious icecream. Tomorrow is a new day and a new beginning.

Inspired as we (Ada) are from Frozen and the fact that Ada got skates from her auntie, she badly wanted to go skating last weekend..
Theoretically, I wanted it too BUT last time I had been skating is some 20 years ago. And I was not good in skating back then either. So my fear was to break my legs and make a disaster show in public instead of simply showing Ada how to skate.
Then I forced myself to come a little bit outside my comfort zone… and I loved it 🙂
I felt like the ice queen at least Ada looked at me like that. People around us probably  saw a person more like Bambi on ice. Who cares though! We had fun 🙂
Our fan club / Naši navijači 🙂

While in Sweden I heard that in the kindergarten there where 19 kids with the stomachflu. Imagine my happiness having missed that horror.  It is not even strange that the kids get it considering that they are not going outdoors… at all.  I really have an issue with that and must say I don’t understand that philosophy.
Unfortunately, I didn’t stay happy too long. Two evenings back, Ada started complaining about having pain in the stomach and went to bed quite early. Ada going to bed early is a clear sign that she is not well. She didn’t sleep too long before the hell broke loose.
My husband was taking care of her because I cannot stand someone vomiting. But Ada was so brave even counting the times she was vomiting. Poor thing. Luckily, today she is better and I keep my fingers crossed that Adrian doesn’t get it…
Nažalost, nije me sreća dugo pratila.

For the first time we, the kids, Ensar and I flew together. We arrived to Stockholm last  Tuesday and hoped for snow, but it was nowhere to be seen.
One of the highlights in Stockholm was the Technical museum. The kids loved it. There were so many things to explore and it is also interesting for the grown ups.  Nice to visit if in Stockholm.
