Bedroom plants / Biljke za spavaću sobu

I find the air in our bedrooms is heavy and smelly after a nights sleep,  so I want to have something making it fresher.  The options are to buy an air cleaner or try to get some plants doing the job. I prefer the plants because I hate sounds when I sleep.
However, I have been told that it is not good to have plants in the sleeping room. I found it odd because in my mind it should then be dangerous to walk trough a forrest during the night, because there would be no oxygen left to breath 🙂
Second thing why I want to have plants is that apartments in general are having too dry air which is giving me tough time with dry nose and all that comes with it.

I decided thus to find out what plants one can have in the sleeping room. If possible with flowers, because the green “leaf plants” I find a little bit boring. Finding the video underneath surprised me and motivates me to buy some of these plants 🙂

Nakon jedne odspavane noći meni uvijek tukne soba na ustajali vazduh tako da mi treba nešto da poboljša vazduh. Opcija je ili kupiti mašinu koja čisti vazduh ili naći biljke što to rade. Radije bih neku biljku jer mrzim zvukove kad spavam.
Međutim uvijek mi je bilo rečeno kako nije dobro imati cviječe u spavaćoj sobi. Bilo mi je to malo čudno jer moj mozak odmah konta da bi po toj logici trebalo biti opasno hodati kroz šumu noći jer ne bi trebalo biti dovoljno kisika.
Drugi razlog zašto bih radije biljku imala je što mi treba nešto što navlaži vazduh jer mi smeta suh vazduh.

Odlučila sam da saznam koje biljke mogu imati u spavaćoj sobi. Ako može nešto što cvjeta jer su mi malo su mi dosadne one sa samo zelenim listovima. Iznenadilo me kad sam gledala ovaj video i motiviše me da kupim neke od ovih biljki.

Sansevieria trifasciata- snake plant
My mother always had these at home. It seems to be an absolute killer when it comes to producing oxygen during the night. I read one should have 6-8 plants per person. Feels a lot having 12 plants in the sleeping room, especially when I have no idea where to put them. I will start with a smaller number maybe 6 than at least one of us can breathe properly 😛
Sansevieria trifasciata – svekrvin jezik
Mama je otkad znam za sebe imala ovu biljku kod kuće. Izgleda da je fantastična u produciranju kisika preko noći. Čitala sam da je potrebno 6-8 biljki po osobi. Čini mi se puno imati 12 ovakvih u našoj spavaćoj, pogotovo kad nemam pojma gdje da ih stavim. Počeću sa šest onda barem jedno od nas može dobro disati 😛

Chlorophytum comosum
Another plant that is supposed to be good is the Chlorophytum comosum.  This one is amazing in cleaning the air from formaldehyd. Formaldehyd is contained in all possible materials from colors to body creams. Benzen, xylen and toluen are other substances that this plant is cleaning the air of.Jedna druga biljka koja je navodno dobra je Chlorophytum comosum. Nevjerovatan je čistać vazduha. Čisti formaldehid direktno iz vazduha. Formaldehid se koristi  u svim mogućim materijalima od boje do kreme za tijelo. Benzen, xylen i toluen su druge substance koje ova biljka čisti.

Jasmine
What surprised me in the video is that Jasmine is a bedroom plant and that it has a sedative effect making the sleep better. I think I will by a couple for Ada that is waking up every night…
Što me začudilo je iz videa je da je Jasmin jedna biljka za spavaće sobe i čak da ima seditivnmi efekat što čini da bolje spavam. Mislim da par ovi nije loše za Adu jer se budi svaku noć…

Lavendel
I love it but I wonder if that is not a tick to strong for a sleeping room? On the other hand it is calming small children giving them better sleep… Sounds interesting for Ada´s room …Lavanda-
Volim lavandu ali se pitam da nije miris ipak malo prejak za spavaću sobu? Ali u drugu ruku ima smirujući efekat na djeci što ima daje bolji san….Opet nešto za Adu… i mene

Valerian
This is something for me. My brain is spinning on maximum before sleep and obviously I just need to inhale the scent of the valerian and it will make me sleepy…one for Ada…and one for me 😛Valerija
Ovo je nešto za mene. Moj mozak je na 200 prije spavanja i izgleda da trebam samo malo mirisa inhalirati i čini će me uspavanom… jedna biljka za Adu i jedna za mene 😛

Gardenia
I find gardenias so cute. And they are as effective as valium in helping the body and mind to relax and prepare for sleep which means one for me and one for Ada 😛Gardenija
Tako su mi slatke. I isto su efektivne kao valium da opuste tijelo i um i tako pripreme tijelo za spavanje. Znaći jedna biljka za mene i jedna za Adu 😛

Aloe Vera
I got surprised that Aloe vera is  1) a plant producing oxygen over night and 2) that it is as good in it as the snake plant. Začudila sam se da je Aloe vera 1) biljka koja producia kisik noću i 2) da je isto dobra u tome kao svekrvin jezik.

Gerbera daisy
I love it BUT I do wonder if it can survive me :/ It is one of the best plants in cleaning the air from bensen. Gerbera
Prelijepe biljke, ali ne znam ako mene mogu preživjeti :/  Ove su biljke jedne od najbolji u čišćenja vazduha od benzena.

Spathyfillum – Peace Lilly
I love the name and last time I had it was in Sweden. It survived me which means that there might be a chance it survives me this time too. It does remove also formaldehyde and bensen from the air, as well as trikloretylen, xylen, toluen, aceton, alkohol and ammoniak. It also increases the humidity in the room which is the k.o criteria for me. I want it to be more humid in the apartment. Spatifil- Ljiljan mira
Sviđa mi se ime i zadnji put sam imala ovu biljku u Švedskoj. Preživjela me što znači da postoji šansa da me opet preživi. Sklanja formaldehid i benzen iz vazduha kao trikloretilen, xilen (xylen), toluen, aceton, alkohol i amoniak. Isto povećava vlažnost u vazduhu što je za mene k.o kriterija jer hoću da mi bude vlažnije u stanu.

Orchides
Last but not least are the orchids. The most common plant that I see on windows lately.  I got surprised that it is such a useful plant. It is cleaning the air from bensen, formaldehyde, xylen and toluene. It is also humidifying the air. All this packed into a beautiful plant.
Orhideja
I za kraj stoje orhideje. Ovo je u zadnje vrijeme najučestalija biljka koju vidim na prozorima i moram priznati da sam se pravo začudila kad sam pročitala koliko je korisna ova biljka i da je noćni proizvođać kisika. Čisti isto xilen (xylen), toluen, formaldehid i benzen i navlažava vazduh. I sve to upakovano u jednom predivnom cvijetu.

One thing I was surprised about  or rather did not think of was that some plants should be “cleaned” meaning the leafs should be wiped once a week. That is logic – when you think of the leaves as a filter that is filtering the air and gets stuffed with dust.

Jedna stvar koja me začudila ili bolje nisam nikad razmišljala o tome, je što neke biljke moraš “čistiti” što znači da jednom sedmično moraš obrisati lišće. Logično… kad ih gledaš kao filtere koji se začepe prašinom.

Worlds most expensive table / Najskuplji sto na svijetu

It would maybe fit better in a huge yacht than in a living room but you have to admit it is very cool. This Fletcher Capstan Table consists of 5000 pieces and is put together by hand. Even though the company does not show any prices the rumor goes that the tables cost around 50 000 dollar.

Mozda bi bolje pasao u nekoj velikoj jahti nego u jednoj dnevnoj sobi, ali je i dalje jako cool sto. Fletcher Capstan sto je napravljen rucno od 5000 dijelova. Iako firma nepise posto su stolovi prica se da kostaju oko 50 000 dolara.

From work bench to the lamps / Od kuhinjske ploce do lustera

I had so many plans for yesterday of how to find all possible things for the apartment but it turned out differently. First, the work bench for the kitchen turned out be such a mess to order that we had to go to two places before ordering it. Driving to the first one, we missed the exit on the high way so we had to travel extra 40 km (?) to come back to the store. I would have been annoyed but I guess I wouldn´t see the village Bruchsal otherwise 😛 After that we went to see some things for the bathroom, but I couldn´t find what I was looking for. I finished the day strolling around in the lamp section. I don´t know why but I love it. For me it is like a museum. Here are some of the highlights 😀

Jucer sam imala sam toliko planova kako cu naci pola onih stvari koje nam treba za stan medjutim na kraju se drugacije zavrsilo. Prvo ispala je citava odiseja da narucimo kuhinjsku plocu. Trebali smo ici u dvije radnje. Kad smo isli u prvu profulali smo izlaz sa autoputa i morali smo 40 km (?) dodatno voziti da bi se na kraju vratili da pocetnu tacku. Mozda bih se i nervirala oko toga, ali vjerujem da drugacije ne bih ni vidjela Bruchsal selo 😛 Poslije toga smo otisli da pogledamo par stvari za kupatilo, ali ni tu nisam mogla naci to sto smo trazili. Tako da je dan zavrsio time da se setkam po odjelu za lampe. Ne znam zasto ali ja to bas volim. Meni je to kao da se setam po muzeju. Evo par lampica koje su mi zapele za oci 🙂

Unbelievable gift – a new bathroom / Nevjerovatan poklon – novo kupatilo

Have you ever renovated an apartment? For the ones that have done it they will understand the tremendous gift and love that makes a person do this for an another person.
I haven´t had internet for ages, making me completely detached from the world the last month meaning also no contact with my family.  During that time my little sister had organized to renovate my bathroom in the apartment in Solna as a surprise. Can you imagine the surprise? I couldn´t believe that someone would do this for me. I would be afraid to do that to anyone. I would be afraid that I will mess up something. But my sister did it perfect!

Za one koje jesu, razumijece koji je to nevjerovatan poklon i koja je to ljubav kad jedna osoba uradi nesto tako nekome.
Nisam imala internet vec preko mjesec dana, sto me totalno odsjeklo od svijeta i samim tim i od moje familije. Moja sestra je taj period iskoristila da organizuje da se kupatilo u mom stanu u Solni renovira. Mozete li samo zamisliti koje je to iznenadjenje bilo? Ja to prosto ne mogu da vjerujem, jer mene bih strah bio da tako nesto njoj uradim. Bojala bih se da necu nesto jos pokvariti. Ali moja sestra je to perfektno odradila. Moja zahvalnost nema rijeci. Volim te seko!

 

Inspiration children room / Inspiracija za djeciju sobu

We need to prepare a new room for Ada and we want it to be the perfect place for a child to play. Of course I started to check through the net and I found so many things that I would love to have. I am jealous at people that have this wonderful gift of making even a stone look beautiful and with tight budgets they make a room look like a fairy tale.
The one thing I learned though is that when furnishing the room there should be three colors that are used as a base and all other colors are then introduced by the decorations.
I think for Ada´s room we will use white, beige and…good question. I would like to have pink and my husband wants green. Probably in the end it will turn something as exciting as … grey 😛 Screenshot_15
Just loved this tent / Ovaj sator mi je genijalan.

Hocemo da pripremimo Adi djeciju sobu i hocemo da bude perfektno mjesto za igranje. Naravno, pocela sam da trazim inspiraciju po internetu i nasla sam toliko stvari koje bih voljela imati. Ljubomorna sam na ljude koje uspiju da naprave krasne stvari cak od obicnog kamena, tako da iako imalu malo para naprave sobe koje su kao iz bajke.
Jednu stvar sam se uglavnom naucila a to je da kad se soba uredjuje da trebas izabrati maksimalno tri boje koje su kao baza. A sve ostale boje se onda dekoracijom unesu.
Mislim da cemo u Adinoj sobi imati bijelu, bez i jos neku… ja sam za rozu, a muz za zelenu boju. Tako da ce najvjerovatnije na kraju ispasti nesto uzbudljivo poput … sive boje 😛

R.O.O.M in Mall of Scandinavia / R.O.O.M u Mall of Scandinavia

When I was in Stockholm I took a walk in the famous Mall of Scandinavia. I love to stroll around in interior shops in Sweden. They make simple things look beautiful. I guess that is why Scandinavian design has become so famous around the world. Here are some things that caught my eye when I was walking around in R.O.O.M. The stool is made for children and it so cute. However, I did wonder who came up with the idea and what the point was of the cuddly toys, or to be more correct, the head of them hanging on the wall like hunting trophies.

20160216_133016_resized_2Kad sam bila u Stokholmu prosetala sam kroz vec poznati Mall of Scandinavia. Kad sam u Svedskoj volim posjetiti interijer prodavnice jer uspiju od jednostavni stvari da naprave da lijepo izgleda. Vjerovatno je skandinavski dizajn zato i postao poznat u svijetu. Evo nekoliko stvari koje su mi zapele za oko kad sam bila u R.O.O.M prodavnici. Stolicica za djecu mi je preslatka. Ali sam se malo upitala ko je dosao na ideju da napravi igracke koje izgledaju kao lovacki trofej i kakva je ustvari poenta toga.  :/

Bauhaus Kakelspecialisten

The cold is still holding us in its grip and we are collectively suffering it. I do not have so much time to write on the blog because I have been quite busy. Last days I have visited Bauhaus and Kakelspecialisten to check up on the tiles for the bathroom. I wanted a mosaic floor but the price of 300€ per sqm felt very high so I checked up on other tiles. These brown-metallic are my favorites for now. But I am pending from the mosaic floor, to marble walls to metallic tiles… Wonder how it will look like in the end 😀20160215_113421_resized
Ove godine nas je prehlada ono bas posteno sastavila. Kolektivno se patimo svi. I nikako da nas prodje. Nemam nesto ni vremena da pisem ali se dosta stvari desava. Zadnjih par danas sam visila po Bauhaus i Kakelspecialisten da gledam plocice za kupatilo. Jedne su mi plocice pravo zapele za oko iako ne znam ako stvarno pasu u nasem kupatilu. Prvo sam kontala da stavim mozaik plocice na pod medjutim skoro 300 Eura/ m2 me ponukalo da razmisljam o drugoj soluciji. Ove smedje/ metalik plocicesu jos ljepse nego na slici i moj su favorit za sada. Ali jos se nisam odlucila izmedju mozaik poda, plocice koje izgledaju kao mramor ili ove metalik plocice. Bas me zanima kako ce na kraju ispasti kupatilo 😀

Bringing nature into the living room / Unijeti prirodu u dnevnu sobu

The chilean artist Sebastian Errazuriz was out for a walk in Santiago in Chile, when he noticed and got inspired by a branch. Out of the branch he made this beautiful bookshelf bringing nature into the living room. The bookshelf got the name Bilbo after the street where the branch was found. Fascinating how simple things can be so beautiful 😀grenhylla880x660(ByMinScale_TopLeft_Transparent_True) Kad je čileanski umjetnik Sebastian Errazuris bio u šetnji u Santiagu (Čile) primjetio je jednu granu koju je ponijeo kući. Inspirisan, napravio je prelijepu policu za knjige s kojom je unio prirodu u dnevnu sobu. Polica je dobila ime Bilabo po ulici gdje je umjetnik našao. Fascinantno kako jednostavne stvari mogu biti lijepe 😀
