Weekend / Vikend

Yesterday, Yasemin was visiting us. Last time we saw each other was when she moved to Hamburg and that is (already :/) two years ago. We met at the IBE institute (Institut)  für Medizinische Informatik Biometrie Epidemiologie. She bought Ada these cute toys, plus a car and a bee-toy that Ada loved.

Later, I drove Yasemin back to the central station, where we also took a coffee noticing that the station was so overcrowded.

Going back to the trains we saw the refugees that whole Europe is talking about. It broke my heart to see children lie on the floor. I saw these tired, dirty and resigned faces. I wanted to take picture of them but I felt bad about it. As wouldn´t I show any respect to them. I felt like I would have taken pictures of animals in a zoo, so I refrained. It reminded me too much of 90-s when Bosnian people where running away from the war and how people looking at them thought that they were coming from the jungle. I was helping out and translating when the guy showing them around in the refugee camp told me to show them how to use a WC! I was wondering if he was serious. He was! I said to them in bosnian what the guide had said to me and my landsmen got upset. Among them was (previously) a very wealthy men asking the guide if he preferred the french or english bathroom… well the guide didn´t know…This scene I will never forget because it told so much about how low people think of refugees…36SyrianRefugees.0Kad smo se vracale prema vozovima vidjele smo da su to ustvari prognanici o kojima citava Evropa prica. Ja sam ga upitala ako on to ozbiljno misli.
