Priority list / Prioritetlista

One thing that came up as a revelation for me when I read the blog of Förvaringsdrottningen was that I actually never wrote a “to-do” list for things I should do or things that get me annoyed in my apartment. Considering the time we spend in the apartment and how annoying things can be it is maybe a great place to start organizing our life at home first. Since, we are moving to a new city and a bigger apartment I have great opportunity for changing things and here are few things that I will have very high up on my priority list

  1. Have a place where my “to-do” list is visible!
  2. clear my and Ada´s closet
  3. clear my book shelf (get rid of books that I find boring)
  4. clear out our pantry
  5. clear out stuff in general that are just around with no function
  6. clear out my bags
  7. Pack for moving -> New city, new apartment
  8. Move in fast. With that I mean that I do not want to spend 2 years looking for furniture or looking at my windows having no curtains, because of lack of proper drill or something like that. If I need to I´ll rather get professional help for furnishing the apartment (well depends on the price )

to do list 2p.s Loved this to do list that found this list on the internet (I do not remember the source) to do list

  2. Raščistiti Adinu i moju garderobu
  3. Raščistiti knjige (riješiti se dosadnih knjiga)
  4. Špajzu rastribiti

Multitasking

Is multitasking the new way of becoming inefficient? The whole time I am reading in papers, watching TV , listening to the radio and all of them are making a hype of this fantastic thing multitasking. We are a multitasking generation. We try to do multiple tasks at once. At work we try to finish phone calls as we read or write mails, at home we try to take care of the children as we finish of bills, (or read something at our smartphones), we listen to a person explaining something to us while we are solving another problem and so on. But is it really good for us to be multitasking? Is it possible at all?
Actually, studies show that multitasking is not beneficial for your brain. Many researchers believe that when the brain works at a given task, it creates a sort of “bottleneck” where the brain will ideally take a moment to plan before approaching a given task. However, when people attempt to juggle multiple tasks at once, the brain needs to restart and refocus with each given task, thus leaving greater room for error with each new addition to the cognitive workload.

One thing we should remember is that we are not machines. We cannot process several “programs” at once. So instead of multitasking try to start streamlining your work habits. People use the to do list to write down all the tasks we are supposed to do…ever,  but try to make a manageable “to do”- list and turn it in a “today”-list with all the tasks you are supposed to do in one day. This helps you strain yourself and avoid over-tasking and you will manage to devote your focus, time and energy efficiently one task at a time…Good luck 😀multitasking-is-making-you-dumb-infographic
